Entry/Pull-Out Fees

In each respective age division, the first teams to get confirmed with payment or deposit will be the 1st to play. Always send team name, age, division and tournament location when mailing in payment to ensure your teams spot.

Teams must pay $200 (Deposit) or pay in full to be bracketed or guaranteed into our events, unless confirmed by the lead director.

If your team withdraws after an event sells out or Monday or later the week of the tournament your team is responsible for the entire entry fee; however we will make every effort to get a replacement team. Should a replacement team be secured, your team will only owe a $50 late pull out/admin fee. If we get within 8 days of the event, and we still cannot secure a replacement team, we may offer a discount to the event in order to fill your spot and you will be responsible for the financial difference.

If your confirmed team withdraws less than 8 days prior to event which results in your division being cancelled, your team will be responsible to pay the entire entry fee plus an additional $200.

Specialty events such as World Series,States, Midnight Madness, Golden Woody and Holiday Weekends, you must pull out a minimum off 14 days before the event start or will be responsible for the entire entry fee.

*If you have to pull out of a tournament after entering make sure to call and email the “listed” lead director and you must make sure to receive a confirmation by email from the director that he is aware you are pulling out.

This must be done no later than 1:00 pm 8 days prior to the tournament entered or you will owe $200 for late pull out along with possibility of owing the full entry fee.

♦ If entering multiple AWS event locations the same weekend:

You must inform AWS 10 days in advance what your final location choice will be. Failure to stipulate to this policy could make you financially liable for all locations you entered unless we can fill your spot/spots.

By entering our events you are agreeing to our rules and guidelines.

"No-Show" Fee

• Teams that do not show up for any game (thereby shorting another team there game guarantee) will be charged a No Show fee per game. No show fee depends on cost of event and game guarantee. That fee will be given to the opposing team.
No show team may also be subject to suspension.

• Bounced check fee $50 - payable in Money order or cashiers check only.

Rain-Out Policy

  90% Refund or 100% Credit

(Each tournament is different depending on cost of event)

• If the game guarantee is met: No Credit or refund.

Photocopies of birth certificates will be required.

2) Rosters: May not exceed 22 players, 1 bat boy (must be on roster), (3 coaches and 1 manager in dugout) during the tournament. A player may only play on one team per weekend, not multiple teams on the same weekend. Once you start a weekend on one team you must finish w/ that team. 4) Game Time: Starting time is forfeit time, unless delay is created by AWS, park, or weather. Game time starts at the conclusion of home plate meeting - Umpires will record starting time on official scorecards handed out by AWS. (Always check official brackets online and at the fields for potential changes)

5) Home Team: Determined by coin flip. Home team is required to keep the official score book, along with umpire scorecard. Please check official score every inning. AWS officials will not go back in the game to check score book. If the home team cannot keep official book they may defer to visiting team.

6) Player Minimum: A team can start with a minimum of 8 players and can finish with 8. No out is taken if starting w/ 8 in the 9th position. If 9th player arrives they may insert in the 9th position and continue playing w/ no penalty. You may not add a 10th if he shows.

*Eight warm-ups to start game, five thereafter. Seven for relief pitcher entering game, and as many needed due to injury to prior pitcher.

** Once player is removed as a "pitcher" from thier fielding position, that player may not re-enter that position in the field in that same game.

*If pitching rules are violated and the infraction is detected at any time during the event, the situation will be reviewed by AWS staff along w/ UIC and consequences may include: forfeiture of game in question, elimination of team from the event, and/or suspension for the following year, coach and/or player ejection.

9) Infield Warm-Ups: All teams are encouraged to warm-up as much as possible prior to game time. No pre-game infield on the infield (unless director allows for special events) You may take groundballs on the skirts of the infield and fly balls in the outfield.

10) Steel cleats are prohibited in the following age groups: 8U 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U.

11) Bat Rule/Policy:

13u and younger
adhere to 1.15BPF ratio for all 8u thru 13u divisions. Bat must have 1.15BPF stamped on it. NO BESR bats at all

14u
Must use either -3 bat that is BBCOR high school regulations or -5 bat w/ 1.15 stamp on it (thumb print) or wood bat

15u and older
Must use -3 bat w/ BBCOR certification high school approved.

*" If found to be using an illegal bat both the batter and head coach will be removed from that game only!"

12) Uniforms: Numbers necessary, matching uniforms recommended.

13) Adverse Weather: All World Baseball Tournaments may be played in adverse weather conditions. The format may be changed to lesser time limits, fewer innings or game guarantee to complete the tournament.

14) Decisions: Tournament Director shall have final decision on all tournament questions.

15) Hotels/Motels/Condos: Teams that leave unpaid bills or damages will be removed from the tournament and may be put on AWS suspension.

16) Pitcher or Catcher may have a courtesy runner at anytime (Last batted out or bench player). A player may only run once in an inning.

17) Tie-Breaker System: Pool play games can end in a tie. If a playoff game is tied after all innings have been completed (or at time limit), the "California" tie-breaker rule will go into effect. Each team puts the batter who is scheduled to bat last in that respective half of the inning on second base, continue hitting from where last out was made, and plays out a full inning. This happens until the tie is broken and the game is complete. Higher seed is home team for all playoffs games including championship game (except when both teams in championship game have battled to get there)

18) All age groups can have at least one EH (Extra Hitter) if they choose to bat more than 9 players. If you start with 10, you must finish with 10 or take outs in vacated batting position first time around the order but not an out there after. EH must be declared at the start of the game -- an EH (10th) hitter may NOT be added after the starting lineup is submitted. EH is considered a defensive position, you may substitute on defense w/out letting umpire know unless the substitution is in pitching. All age groups may use either the DH or EH. Teams may not use both the EH and DH in a game. You may bat as few as 9 up to as many players as you have on your active roster

19) RE-ENTRY: You may re-enter for starters one time, except on the mound. A player may not re-enter pitching once he has already pitched in that game.

20) No one may be in the dugout unless on the roster (i.e. bat boys, coaches)

21) No swearing, use of profanity, foul language, or corruption of the game of any kind will be tolerated by any one person (coach, player, fan). Person/s in question will be removed from the premises for that event and possible future AWS events. Remember you are seen as a person of authority to the ballplayers so please act like a responsible adult!!!

22) No chewing tobacco, smokeless tobacco products, or smoking of any kind are allowed around AWS events. We are trying to be a great example to these ballplayers!!! No alcohol of any kind allowed around kids events unless purchased from the park or complex hosting the tournament.

23) Runner must avoid contact going into any base by sliding or diving around. Runner cannot run over defensive player, bowl over, jump or dive over defensive player. For safety reasons player will be ejected for remainder of that game. Based on umpire and director discretion, player may be allowed to play in the next game.

24) Ejections: Any player ejected will be removed from the game in question but allowed to play in the following game, unless the act is deemed as unsportsmanlike and malicious by the umpires and AWS staff. If that is the case, the player will sit out the next game. Any coach ejected will be removed from the game in question and not be allowed to coach in the following game (onsite tournament director may be able to override following game suspension after conducting an investigation). We expect coaches of youth baseball teams to know the consequences of their actions.Coach/Manager/Parent must leave the complex for remainder of the game if ejected, no exceptions.

25) Pool Play Tie Breakers: For the purpose of tiebreakers in pool play, all wins are worth 2 points, all ties are worth 1 point, and losses are 0 points.

26) If a player shows up to a game late, and he is on your team roster, he can enter the game as a substitute regardless of whether the coach added him onto the lineup card. All players that start the game in the dugout must be listed on the lineup card to be eligible to enter the game.

27) NO TEAM will go to the playoffs/championship game who forfeits or fails to complete an entire game in the process of pool play w/ the intent to save pitching or proceed to playoffs due to this.

28)-Balks All World Baseball uses MLB rules for balks. The balk can be a live ball (depending on situation).

All World still allows first to third (Busby) move and steps to third base w/out a throw unlike MLB.

Balks are enforced in 10u and above age divisions without warning.

In age divisions 9u and below, balks are not enforced strictly however after x amount of warnings a balk may be called - 1 warning per balk offense!

29) 8U DIVISION RULES:
Mound at 40ft / bases at 60’.
5 run max per inning until open inning (open inning will be determined by
umpire staff / when about 20 minutes left on clock the open inning will be
declared at start of final inning of play).
Game time is 1hr 30 minutes or max 6 innings
10 run rule after 4 innings.
Runners can take more than one base on a batted ball but once ball
is in pitchers circle/hand plays is dead.
All runners must tag up on fly ball/Sac fly.

No leading off for base runners but they can steal 2nd & 3rd base
after pitch passes home plate.

no stealing home (runner from third can come home if a play is made on him/her or if a play is made on another runner and a "fielding error" occurs. Throwing errors when attempting to throw out base stealers on other bases will not permit runner on third to advance home, bit fielding error on attempt will permit runner on third to advance home at their own risk).
